Baptism
The
Sacrament of Baptism
Baptism is the basis of the whole
Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door
which gives access to the other sacraments. Through baptism we
are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become
members of Christ, are incorporated into the church and made
sharers in its mission. “Baptism is a sacrament of regeneration
through water and in the word.”
Baptisms are held on the 2nd and 4th
Sunday of the month at the church. Arrangements should be made in
advance. A baptismal class is required for the baptism of the
first child. This class meets on the third Thursday of the month
at 7:30 pm in the Religious Ed. Building, classroom #7. Use the
faculty entrance at the side of the building in the circle on
Hunter Street.

Reconciliation
Sacrament of Reconciliation
(Penance)
The sacrament of Reconciliation was instituted by Jesus for all
sinful members of his church: above all for those who, since
baptism have fallen into grave sin, and have thus lost their
baptismal grace and wounded communion with the church community.
When
Saturdays: 4:30 - 5:15 pm in the
reconciliation room in the rear of the church.

Sacrament of Holy Orders
Holy Orders is the sacrament through
which the mission entrusted by Jesus to his apostles continues to
be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the
sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees:

Anointing of the Sick
Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick
With the anointing on the forehead
by the priest a seriously sick person is blessed with the grace of
Jesus Christ so that his love and mercy may help the sick person
with the sufferings and pains of his/her illness. The grace of the
Holy Spirit is conferred to renew trust and faith in God against
temptations to discouragement and anguish in the face of death.
It is meant to lead the sick person to healing of the soul, but
also of the body if such is God’s will. Furthermore, “if one has
committed sins, they will be forgiven.”
For a person who is seriously ill, please make arrangements for
the priest to visit the sick person either at home or in the
hospital for the Eucharist and Sacrament of the Sick. A priest or
special minister of Holy Communion will follow up by making home
visits with the Eucharist.
